Science Fair Project Resources
Throughout the 2020-2021 school year, we ran a virtual Science Fair Club which acted as a valuable resource to help students develop a science fair project via engaging bi-weekly after-school virtual workshops, culminating in an interactive online science fair where students presented their project to fellow club members. Each hour-long club meeting on Zoom video chat featured a guest speaker who shared how their previous experiences with science fairs have shaped their current careers. The main goal of our science fair club was to have mentors and the Creative Encounters team support students throughout their science fair project, answering questions and providing insight every step of the way.
We are beyond proud to say that we definitely achieved this goal as we had multiple club members win awards at the Waterloo-Wellington Regional Science Fair, including first place in their respective age categories! —April 2021
Video Series: How to Make A Science Project with Creative Encounters!
We also released a series of YouTube videos to reiterate, and build off of what we learned in our workshops. These videos provide a detailed description of several concepts critical to the creation and completion of a great science fair project such as the scientific method, safety and ethics, sample size, and logging data. We welcome you to use these videos as a resource for your classroom, as they are suitable for students of all ages who are creating a science fair project. Subscribe to our youtube channel to be notified upon the release of our next educational video series!
